Just after 12 noon RFD along with mutual aid partners were dispatched to Fords Edge for a reported building fire. Initial reports to Montgomery County 911 indicated smoke coming from HVAC vents inside a residence with a strong plastic odor. Ladder 98 and Engine 98 made the response with units from Upper Providence Township, Trappe, Spring City, Limerick, & Lower Providence along with an EMS unit from the EMS Division.

Crews isolated the source to an issue with the HVAC unit, securing it and providing ventilation with all units clearing within an hour.
