During the August meeting of the department the membership approved funds to purchase and send items to a staff member and his military unit currently deployed overseas. The department purchased and sent various toiletry items as well as comfort items such as coffee to the deployed United States Army Reserves unit.

Quick Response Keeps Potentially Hazardous Fire Contained

Shortly before 7:40pm the Fire Division of RFD was dispatched to the 400 block of 1st Avenue in Royersford Borough for a reported building fire. Also dispatched to assist was the Liberty Fire Company & Trappe Fire Company. Despite rain early and the overcast conditions citizens of Royersford and the surrounding communities came out to enjoy a nice stroll up and down Main Street. Vendors, musicians, and antique cars lined the main drag from 3rd Avenue to 6th Avenue.
