Rogue Smoke Detector Wakes Neighbors

The RFD was dispatched to the 500 block of Spruce Street shortly after 11pm on Monday night for a smoke detector sounding from an unknown location. Residents of Spruce Court Apartments reported they could hear an active smoke detector but unknown from where.

Main Street Shut Down After Afternoon Collision

Just before 1:30pm Tuesday afternoon the Department was alerted to an auto accident involving a pedestrian near the intersection of N. Monday evening the Fire Division of RFD was dispatched to assist Limerick Fire Department with a commercial building fire located in the Linfield Industrial Park also known as the Kinsey Distillery property. Overnight Fire Staffing Responds to Fluid On The Roadway

Just as the overnight fire staffing crew was settling in the Department was alerted to fluids down on the roadway on Adams Street in the Borough. Rescue 98 responded and arrived onscene within two minutes to find a vehicle which had leaked transmission fluid. This morning just after 9:30am Royersford Fire Department and Liberty Fire Company were dispatched to the 100 block of 2nd Avenue after a gas line was struck. Engine 98 along with units from Spring City responded closing the roadway standing by until PECO responded to secure the gas line.
