Over the last handful of weeks our EMS Division providers worked together to put into service a new 2024 E350 Ambulance to serve the Spring-Ford Community. The newest ambulance, 325-1, was officially placed into service after an exhaustive inspection by the Bureau of EMS arm of the Pennsylvania Department of Health ensuring all perimeters were met.

RFD members took the ladder truck to Phoenixville to attend the annual Dogwood Festival Parade which coincides with the Phoenixville Fire Department's 150th Anniversary celebration.

While rain kept the parade route cool this year, the attendees along the route cheered loudly. Fire apparatus came from throughout the region to help celebrate. Congrats to our neighbors at the PFD.

Wednesday evening at 5:46pm the Royersford Fire Department and mutual aid agencies were dispatched to the 200 block of 2nd Avenue. Royersford Borough Police were on patrol and noted smoke coming from the residences and immediately took action requesting the fire department be dispatched while also beginning to check and evacuate the involved residences. A two vehicle accident closed Main Street around 5th Avenue in Royersford this afternoon as a light mist fell. The head on collision brought units from RFD's Fire & EMS Divisions along with Liberty Fire Company and Royersford Borough Police Department. This morning MICU 325-15 was dispatched to Collegeville Borough to assist on the commercial building fire on the 200 block of E. Main Street. EMS stood by onscene while fire units operated bringing the situation under control with no injuries were reported.

Today was the culmination of a friendly competition for a great cause. Over the last year the Hookies Bar & Grill and the American Italian Bocce Club memberships have been collecting can tabs for a donation to the Shriners Children's Hospital in Philadelphia.
