First Perfect Game Thrown in Renovated Bowling Alley

The chances of throwing a perfect game in bowling are 11,500 to one. Brian Schad did just that on Monday, October 8th here at the newly revonated Friendship Social Club Bowling Alley! He is the first person to throw 12 strikes in the new alley although not the first person to throw a perfect game here at Friendship.

Inaugural Royersford Emergency Services Night

Last evening weeks of planning and logistics all came together with multiple organizations and agencies converging on the corner of Walnut Street & 3rd Avenue for the inaugural Royersford Emergency Services Night. Just before 10am The Royersford Fire Department was dispatched to assist the Limerick & Linfield Fire Companies for a structure fire reported to be a shed. Units arrived to find a shed to the rear of a residence engulfed in flames. Engine 98 made the response and assisted crews from Stations 54 & 51 in fire suppression. The RFD Fire Division responded to 24 emergency calls in the month of September bringing the Year-to-Date calls to 291. The Fire Division responded to 11 calls in the Borough, 11 calls in Upper Providence Township and 2 in Spring City. Total man-hours of 51 Hours, 38 Minutes and an In-Service Time of 8 Hours, 57 Minutes, 11 seconds. This brings the Total Man-hours for the year to 609 Hours & 56 Minutes ... (Full Story & Photos)

Units from Royersford Fire Department and Black Rock Fire Department were dispatched to the report of an overturned vehicle which possibly was on fire on the eastbound side of US-422 approaching the Route 29 offramp at 8:00am. Upon arrival, Chief Wezel confirmed the driver of the vehicle had self extricated from the vehicle and there was no fire. EMS personnel from 325-3 determined there was no need ...
