RFD Responds to Accident at 6th & Oak
RFD Watchdesk, August 05
A two vehicle accident Friday brought both Fire & EMS Divisions to the area of 6th and Oak in the Borough. One vehicle struck another vehicle parked along the roadway. EMS assessed and treated two patients onscene while fire personnel handled traffic control and hazard mitigation.

Engine Assists Kimberton with Saturday Morning Barn Fire

Saturday morning Engine 98 crossed the Schuylkill River heading into Chester County assisting the Kimberton Fire Company on a barn fire. The structure located on Prizer Road in East Pikeland Township required companies from Kimberton, Phoenixville, Valley Forge, Ridge, Lionville, Glenmoore, Ludwig's Corner, Liberty Spring City, Royersford, and West End EMS to bring the flames under control. EMS Division Forges New Partnership with Alvernia University

This morning leadership from the EMS Division traveled to Berks County meeting with staff from the nursing program at Alvernia University. In the coming weeks RFD will be welcoming nursing students to ride along with our EMS crews to experience pre-hospital medicine and see the interaction with patients, nurses and physicians, and other first responders. Sundaes on Sunday a Success

Almost 100° temperatures didn't keep folks away from the first RFD "Sundaes on Sunday" event today. A cold treat and an opportunity to check out the Engine, Ladder, & Rescue apparatus made for a successful day for all those who made the trip to our Walnut Street station.

Sun Glare Contributes to Early Morning Crash
RFD Watchdesk, July 14
RFD units along with Liberty Fire Company of Spring City were dispatched to an accident ay 7:00am this morning. A vehicle struck the rear of a trash truck. There were no injuries. The driver of the car stated that the early morning sun glare made it difficult to see.

RFD Assists Two Mutual Aid Neighbors

RFD members were busy Saturday night into Sunday morning with responses to Limerick and Trappe's section of Upper Providence Township.
Shortly after 8pm on Saturday night Ladder 98 responded to assist with a fire at the Bengal Paper Company. The fire was under control within an hour. There was one firefighter injured after a fall.

One Trapped After Car Leaves Roadway

EMS from the UPT station were dispatched along with Upper Providence Township Fire, Black Rock, and Collegeville Fire Companies to the 900 block of Hollow Road for a vehicle which left the roadway. Arriving units discovered one vehicle off the roadway down an embankment with the single occupant trapped in the vehicle.
