RFD Signs Agreement to Purchase New Pierce Engine

The Royersford Fire Department is proud to announce the signing of an agreement with Glick Fire Equipment Co. Inc. to purchase a new Pierce fire engine to replace the current Engine 98, a 2002 KME Engine. EMS Division Responds to Carbon Monoxide Incident

Late this morning fire units from Collegeville Fire Company and Upper Providence Township Department of Emergency Services were alerted to a carbon monoxide incident at the Movie Tavern in the Town Center Shopping Center. The month of October put the the entire department through the paces with Fire Prevention events as well as responding to emergency calls. In total the department saw the busiest month of the year for both the Fire & EMS Divisions responding to a total of 390 calls for service. For this weeks training crews had an opportunity to utilize our "Forcible Entry Prop" to hone and polish their skills. Crews utilized a standard "married set" of tools which is a flat head axe and a halligan bar. EMS Division Repurposes Bags for New Roles

Recently the EMS division made an operational change and moved to a backpack style setup for the Advanced Life Support equipment. This change was based on an opportunity to streamline patient care as well as minimize the expense of duplicate medications and other equipment.
