Firefighters Continue Fitness Regiment

Members attend scheduled sessions and perform various exercises to improve their strength and cardiovascular health. Refresher on Ground Ladders for Weekly Training

Both EMS and Fire personnel attended a very informative ladder training during the weekly Station 98 crew night Monday evening. The training took place at the Spring Ford 9th Grade Center in Royersford. A large portion of the department operations are ground ladders with every fire apparatus equipped with at least two ground ladders. No Caption Department Busy in the Community on Saturday

RFD Watchdesk, April 27

Today department personnel spent the majority of the day out and about in the community. Rescue 98 took part in the Earth Day Clean Up at Victory Park helping to clean some of the dirt and debris left from the winter months. Firefighters Dave Hummel, Ben Leister, & Les Seiders all braved the brisk wind to help spruce of Victory Park.

Busy morning along Westbound US-422

RFD Watchdesk, April 23

RFD crews had a busy morning on US-422 with 2 separate accidents in the westbound lanes. The first occurred just after 8:45am where one vehicle went off the road near milemarker 181. Royersford units responded along with units from Upper Providence Department of Fire & Emergency Services and Trappe Fire Company Ambulance. The occupants of the vehicle refused treatment and units cleared the scene quickly.

The Department took advantage of the nice spring weather and a vehicle that was donated for the purpose of training. Crew members simulated a vehicle rescue situation that used stabilization and removing the roof of the car. Easter Afternoon Rescue on 422

RFD Watchdesk, April 21

Easter afternoon traffic on 422 was slowed due to a multi-vehicle accident requiring extrication. Rescue 98 along with Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company and EMS units from MICU 83 and Trappe EMS were alerted to milemarker 182.8 eastbound just before 2:30pm.
