Crews Take Advantage of the Nice Weather Monday Night

Crews took advantage of the nice weather on Monday night to head down to the river and hone their pumping skills.
One of the skills our driver operators need to be proficient in is called drafting. Drafting is the process of getting water from a source such as a river, lake, or pool and using it to supply water to the firefighters. While most of our area has fire hydrants, sometimes we still need to use these alternative sources for water supply including when RFD is requested to assist other fire departments who primarily rely on these alternative water sources as primary sources.
