RFD along with mutual aid from Spring City, Trappe, Limerick, & Collegeville were alerted in the early morning hours for a reported building fire in the area of South 4th Avenue and Vaughn Road in Upper Providence Township. Calls to MCEDS began ringing in around 3:15am with secondary callers in the area providing additional information clarifying the structure was a garage/outbuilding with a vehicle parked nearby also being included in the flames. With multiple callers and the police arriving confirming a structure well involved the assignment was upgraded to bring Skippack Fire Company and adding the EMS Division to standby onscene. Apparatus arrived flanking each side of the structure deploying handlines to quickly contain and quell the fire keeping the damage to just the outbuilding, vehicle, and a vinyl railing leading to the structure.
