As the evening rush was wrapping up RFD was alerted for an auto accident at Borough Hall located at 300 Main Street. Fire & EMS crews arrived to discover Borough Hall and the building structure had not been impacted but the gas meter on the exterior of the building was damaged. Personnel secured the gas line to mitigate the hazard with fire police closing Main Street between 2nd & 3rd Avenues as well as 3rd Avenue at Myrtle Street. RFD crews stood by until PECO arrived to begin their assessment and the vehicle was removed from the roadway. Main Street was closed for approximately an hour diverting traffic around Borough Hall.
