The Friday evening rush was brought to a standstill shortly after 5:30pm when a vehicle caught fire on the right shoulder of the westbound lanes. RFD along with Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Upper Providence Township Department of Fire & Emergency Services responded to the incident closing the westbound lanes of 422 at the Collegeville exit while the situation was brought under control. Luckily no one was injured and all units cleared reopening the roadway for commuters to continue their drive home for the weekend.
