"Stop the Bleed. Save A Life." The motto of the Stop the Bleed campaign which has become a call to action due to the increasing number of mass casualty incidents worldwide. Uncontrolled bleeding is the number one cause of preventable death from trauma and having knowledge in bleeding control can literally save someone's life. Royersford Fire Department and Friendship Ambulance partnered with Main Line Health's Paoli Hospital to bring a Train the Trainer session to Spring-Ford community first responders. With a delicious dinner from Giovanni's Catering, responders received the required training to spread the message to Stop the Bleed. The group of over 30 EMS providers, law enforcement officers, & firefighters covered a lecture portion of the program and then had an opportunity to apply tourniquets to each other and practice wound packing on simulated injuries. This Train the Trainer session now allows certified instructors to provide this life-saving training to the general public through formal training sessions.

We thank Lisa Eckenrode and her team at Paoli Hospital for partnering with the Spring-Ford community and joining us to provide an excellent training session. RFD members were joined by responders from:
- Royersford Borough Police Department
- Trappe Fire Company
- Trappe Ambulance
- Spring-Ford Area School District Police
- Liberty Fire Company, Spring City
