Over the past several weeks our Green Street station has undergone multiple upgrades to increase efficiency and safety. The most notable renovation to the station was the replacement of the apparatus floor which was long overdue. The new floor is a polyurea surface with a Diamabrush slip proof additive which also extends to the exterior stairs leading into the social club and Friendship Hall. This new floor provides a safe surface for the ambulances as well as providers during inclement weather or while washing vehicles inside the station.

Also upgraded in the apparatus area is the utilization of a wall mounted TV to provide call information to crews while in the bay. The department utilizes the iamresponding system which provides real-time dispatch information for emergencies. The system also allows crews to be aware of what providers are assigned to a specific station, are in the area available to respond, and what members are responding to the station when an emergency is dispatched. By utilizing this TV it provides real-time information as crews are responding. Additionally new electrical reels were added for each apparatus bay for charging of the ambulances and the equipment as well as a new air hose line.

More renovations are planned including a new medical supply area, the replacement of the wheelchair ramp entering the rear of the building as well as other small upgrades to systems already in place.
