The month of October put the the entire department through the paces with Fire Prevention events as well as responding to emergency calls. In total the department saw the busiest month of the year for both the Fire & EMS Divisions responding to a total of 390 calls for service. The fire division of the department was dispatched to 41 calls for the month. This included assisting our neighbors at the Limerick Fire Company on a shed fire, Ridge Fire Company with a garage fire, and Liberty in Spring City on a room and contents fire in Spring City Borough.

In total the Fire Division responded to:
- (10) gas leaks and/or investigations
- (8) vehicle accidents
- (7) fire alarms
- (5) structure fires
- (4) fire police requests
- (3) special service requests
- (2) medical assists
- (1) woods/field fire
- (1) electrical fire outside

The EMS Division also saw a month-high total for call volume handling 349 calls for service. Of those 243 were 911 calls split between 138 for the Montgomery County station and 105 for the Chester County side of the river with non-emergent transports totaling 106 individual transfers to and from various facilities.

Highlights for the month included the department hosting multiple fire prevention presentations including stops at local educational centers and events held by our neighbors. The borough held its inaugural Royersford Emergency Services Night which was a great success and we are already looking to make it even better next year! Additionally the department received a $200,000 grant with the assistance of Senator Rafferty as well as our EMS division being recognized for a cardiac arrest save in East Coventry Township.

As we turn the page on October we look towards the push into the holiday season. Remember as the leaves fall they make the roadways incredible slick causing issues while traveling. As we close in on the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays look for additional safety tips and reminders to ensure you and your family have a safe and happy holiday season! We will also be releasing information on how you can support local children in Bryn Mawr Hospital & St. Christopher's Hospital for Children through the Plymouth Ambulance Toy Run. The Royersford Fire Department & Friendship Ambulance is proud to be taking part in this great again this year.
