At the inaugural Royersford Emergency Services Night the Royersford Fire Department was proud to accept grant monies from a Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) grant totaling $200,000 from Senator John C. Rafferty, Jr. The grant was funded through the state's Economic Development & Community Development Initiatives program which works to get funding for local community projects that promote community growth of key infrastructure. Senator Rafferty and his office were instrumental in obtaining these funds for the department which will be used to defer the costs associated with the consolidation of the two fire companies and help to facilitate the purchase of a new engine to replace the current aging Engine 98.
