Last week providers from our EMS Division along with local mutual aid agencies were presented with Life Saving Commendations and Unit Citations for two separate incidents. The first ceremony on June 13th in East Vincent Township recognized Paramedic Matt Wagner, EMT Jared Weeks, Chief George Gilliano, East Vincent Township Police Officer Doug Ahles, and numerous responders from Ridge Fire Company who responded to an auto accident on April 5th. As responding units were enroute they were advised CPR was in progress and lifesaving interventions were delivered. With the patient and his family present to also say thank you, responders were presented Life Saving Commendations and Unit Citations. The second ceremony on June 19th across the river in Upper Providence Township, responders were recognized for their actions on April 12th. Paramedic Roger Duckwall, Paramedic Molly Slaughter, Lieutenant/Advanced EMT Hannah Overholtzer, FF/EMT Matt Swanson, and UPT DFES Firefighters Carmen Conicelli, Kyle Lochner, Kyle Sapovits, and Jared Weeks. Crews responded to a report of an unconscious subject and upon arriving were advised co-workers of the patient applied an AED delivering two shocks prior to EMS arrival. Care was transferred to responders with ongoing care throughout with a positive outcome for the patient. In one week's time EMS providers from Royersford and our mutual aid partners embodied #OneTeamOneMission working in unison to provide nothing short of premier pre-hospital care resulting in positive outcomes for two patients in their darkest hour. We thank both East Vincent and Upper Providence Townships for the venue to recognize our responders for these two incidents. |
