Over two years ago, Royersford Fire Department and Montgomery County Department of Public Safety embarked on a project shining a light on the voices on the other end of the phone when you call 911 and the voices on the speakers in the ambulances, firetrucks, & police cars. The outline of this project began towards the end of 2019 with filming in the 911 center in Eagleville taking place on Valentine's Day 2020.Before completing all the planned filming, COVID-19 hit full force putting this project on the shelf until conditions allowed for safe filming and interaction to continue. Since the beginning of this project our friend Tim Elbertson has moved onto an exciting new role as a 9-1-1 Public Safety Education & Outreach Specialist with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. He remains in contact with many first responders in Montgomery County and we wish him all the best. We cannot say thank you enough to Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, the Telecommunicators inside the 911 center, Royersford Borough Police Department, Mayor Jenna Antoniewicz who makes an appearance, and of course RFD Videographer/Firefighter Adam Alberico for his expertise in completing this amazing video. |
