RFD units kept busy this week with several calls for service spanning a spectrum of needs. Sunday evening Fire & EMS units were dispatched to the intersection of 7th & Chestnut for a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle striking a utility pole. Fire and EMS crews worked in tandem to mitigate hazards and treat minor injuries onscene.

Monday overnight into Tuesday the Fire Division was dispatched to 2nd Avenue in the area of Old State Road for a utility pole smoking. Crews arrived finding the pole a significant distance from the roadway actively burning although no immediate threat present. Personnel stood by until the situation was turned over to PECO for resolution.

Wednesday afternoon Rescue 98 was dispatched to West Vincent Township to assist Ludwig's Corner Fire Company with a barn fire. Rescue 98 was added to the assignment to provide air cascade services but was recalled while enroute to the scene. The crew was diverted to a standby assignment at Ridge Fire Company to provide coverage to the area until units were released from the fire scene.
