The Royersford Fire Department (RFD) is pleased to announce receipt of two separate grants in the amount of $169,100.

The first grant, which was awarded as part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) program called Assistance to Firefighter Grants in the amount of $166,100. The money from this program will be used to replace the department’s aging self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) which are thirteen years old.

“This is a huge win for the department”, said RFD Treasurer Bill Latch. He also added, “As one of the most important pieces of equipment we utilize, our leadership is excited to be able to offer a much-needed upgrade to our members”.

The second grant comes from the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation in the amount of $3,000. This grant was utilized to purchase two new Automated External Defibrillators which will be used by the department’s EMS Bicycle Team and be carried in the EMS Supervisor vehicle.

The department would like to extend thanks to FEMA and the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation for making these grants possible and allowing us to improve our services to the residents of Royersford and the surrounding communities.
