As Easter Sunday drew to a close Royersford Fire Department and Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company were alerted to a vehicle fire on westbound Route 422. Chief 98 arrived to find a vehicle on the shoulder with an active fire in the engine compartment directing crews from Royersford & Black Rock to setup blocking a single lane of the highway while the fire was extinguished. As firefighters battled flames on the westbound side of the highway, a secondary incident occurred on the eastbound travel lanes with vehicles sustaining minor damage and thankfully no injuries. Fire police and additional units remained onscene blocking a single lane until the vehicle was removed from the shoulder.
