Station 98, Chester 63, and Squad 51 dispatched for a Building Fire - Non-Commercial for a Chimney Fire. FM86 on location reported embers coming from the chimney. Crews entered the residence and found the flew pipe coming from the Wood burning stove was glowing red at two location on the first floor. Crews extinguished and removed the wood from the stove to the outside. Crews made access to the top of the wood stove chimney via the main roof of the structure. Access to the wood stove chimney was difficult because it was located about 4 feet from the side of the main roof. Roof crews dropped chimney bombs (Ansul Packs) down the chimney to extinguish the fire within the flue. The roof crew then lowered down chimney chains to remove any burning soot from the side of the stove pipe. Interior crews removed the stove pipe on the 1st floor and removed the smoke condition within the residence utilizing PPV fans. All units cleared about 57 minutes after initial dispatch.
