An eight vehicle accident on westbound Route 422 snarled Saturday afternoon traffic. Initial calls to 911 indicated up to ten vehicles involved with an unknown number of injuries bringing EMS units from Royersford and Limerick Fire Department. First arriving crews immediately recognized the roadway needed to be shut down dispatching Fire Police units from the area including RFD. MICU 325-3 & MICU 83-2 along with Chief 325 arrived and began triaging injuries to determine the number of ambulances needed. Units from Trappe & Gilbertsville EMS were staged at the Wawa on S. Lewis Road awaiting orders if needed. Ultimately the incident resulted in two minor injuries, both transported to local facilities for continuing care. |
