Social Club Suspends Operations Per Governor’s Order

Today the Governor’s Office issued restrictions pertaining to food and drink businesses which include the Hookies Bar & Grill Social Club, the private membership establishment supporting Royersford Fire Department’s (RFD). Per the Governor’s order effective at midnight on Thursday July 16th, 2020 the Social Club will suspend all operations. This order applies to the Hookies Bar & Grill Social Club as our establishment does not serve dine-in meals. As with the previous order and shutdown we are certainly disheartened to shutter the Social Club again but understand the need to provide service in a safe environment.

The Royersford Fire Department continues to be in communication with our local, county, and state officials as we navigate through this ongoing pandemic. The revenue generated through the Hookies Bar & Grill Social Club is a sizable portion of the Department’s operating budget but through financial investments and long-term planning the Royersford Fire Department continues to operate with the primary mission at the forefront, service to the community. Additionally the Department has applied for all applicable relief grants and funding to ensure the financial impact of these orders are minimized. The Fire & EMS Divisions of the Royersford Fire Department continue to operate at full capacity and are ready to answer any calls for service in the Spring-Ford community.

As official information is released regarding the reopening of food and drink establishments we will develop a plan to welcome our members back with open arms, in the safest environment possible.

Any questions can be directed to Public Information Officer Lenny Brown. Additional information can be found at the Royersford Fire Department website at www.rfd98.org.
