Two rounds of severe weather rolled through the Spring-Ford region on Wednesday afternoon and evening causing widespread damage throughout the area. Power outages caused primarily by downed power lines from fallen trees or broken branches littered the streets and sidewalks keeping PECO and Public Works crews busy throughout much of the evening hours. As power lines were energized other areas of concern were discovered including the 300 block of N. 3rd Avenue where a branch had come into contact with a power line causing another outage. Ladder 98 responded shortly before 3am working in concert with crews from PECO to clear the debris and restoring power a short time later.
