Fire division personnel were alerted this evening to assist the Liberty Fire Company (Chester County Station 63) for a reported garage fire at the corner of Hall & Main Streets in Spring City Borough. Chief 63 located the incident and updated Chester County 911 to an active vehicle fire at the end of Hall Street in East Vincent Township. Chester Ladder 63 arrived on location and began fire suppression with Chester Engine 62-5 (Ridge Fire Company) arriving and supplying Ladder 63 with additional water. Rescue 98 staged on Wall Street with crews quickly extinguishing the fire and checking for any extension. Chief 63 released all Royersford units from the scene after approximate 20 minutes. While the Rescue was operating at the fire in Spring City, Utility 98 was providing assistance with traffic control at a vehicle accident on Main Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues in Royersford. Fire police were assisting the Royersford Police Department as the location of the vehicle was close to the curve at Main & 3rd Avenues causing a concern for secondary collisions.
