Just before 1:30pm Tuesday afternoon the Department was alerted to an auto accident involving a pedestrian near the intersection of N. Lewis Road & Main Street in Royersford Borough. 325-1 & Rescue 98 arrived to find a vehicle had struck a motorized wheelchair on Main Street between the Rite Aid & Advanced Auto Parts with both the wheelchair and vehicle blocking the travel lanes. The roadway was shut down while Fire & EMS crews worked in tandem to provide patient care and mitigate hazards. Also onscene was Royersford Borough Police Department with the patient being transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.
