Monday evening the Fire Division of RFD was dispatched to assist Limerick Fire Department with a commercial building fire located in the Linfield Industrial Park also known as the Kinsey Distillery property. The vacant property houses many abandoned buildings with much of the area being overgrown by shrubbery limiting access for the fire apparatus. Initial arriving units confirmed an active fire in one of the buildings adding units from our EMS Division to the assignment. Ladder & Rescue 98 along with MICU 325-3 and Deputy 325 assisted on location in the complex with fireground operations and providing medical coverage with MICU 324-1 from Trappe EMS for the incident. Engine 98 responded and was tasked with establishing a water refilling site nearby at Main & Railroad Streets. Crews utilized defensive tactics to bring the situation under control with fire and & EMS units clearing as the evening progressed.
