This evening was night one of the Emergency Medical Responder certification class being hosted in Royersford. This course facilitated by the Shumaker Public Safety Center and Harrisburg Area Community College is an opportunity to increase baseline medical knowledge to assist our EMS Division while operating at medical calls, auto accidents, or other incidents where patients may present. This program, coordinated by our own Advanced EMT James Weber, is outlined in a hybrid style format allowing the didactic learning to be completed online at the student's own pace with five practical sessions included to hone the hands-on skills required. At the end of the course the students will test with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and after successfully passing the test will be certified through the Pennsylvania Department of Health as an Emergency Medical Responder.

We wish the students all the best as they embark on this certification journey!
