The Royersford Fire Department is excited to announce we have officially been awarded $265,000 as a part of the SAFER Grant program. The Staffing for Adequate Fire & Emergency Response Grants was created to provide funding directly to fire departments and volunteer firefighter interest organizations to help them increase or maintain the number of trained, "front line" firefighters available in their communities. As volunteer numbers across the state and nation continue to decline, new and innovative ideas are drawing new members but also keeping the current members engaged. Of the total amount awarded a portion will be allocated to establish a stipend program for overnight staffing of duty crews ensuring prompt and adequately staffed responses. The remaining funding will be used for recruitment and retention through community outreach with digital print and media campaigns. We are always looking for new members to join the RFD team. Being a part of the team doesn't mean just being a firefighter as there are many roles to fill within the Department. This all would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our Treasurer Bill Latch and the countless hours logged behind the scenes. Keep an eye out for all the great things on tap for the Royersford Fire Department! Better yet, come be a part of those great things! |
