Around 3:40AM on Sunday morning Royersford Police were dispatched to an accident in the 400 block of Main St. Upon arrival police found a pickup truck which had struck the control box for the traffic light at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Main Street. The fire department was requested to respond for fluid control. The crew on Rescue 98 responded and prevented the spread of fluids from the vehicle. The traffic light was knocked out of service due to the extensive damage to the control box which required the response of Public Works to make sure temporary stop signs were available at the intersection. Fire crews cleared an hour later. As of Sunday morning, Signal Service was making repairs to the control box. |
