Monday night the crew from Royersford Fire Department took some time to continue getting familiar with the new Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus or SCBA. They reviewed the components and features of the SCBA as well as conducted a timed speed drill to demonstrate the ability to ready the SCBA in 2 minutes. Earlier in the night the crews also took a tour of some of the new businesses opening soon on Main Street. These guided tours are important to allow for pre-planning in the event of an emergency so department personnel can quickly access a building and locate essential areas such as electric shut-offs or alarm panels.
