Last night Rescue 98 responded to a report of a brush fire on the shoulder of Eastbound Route 422. Crews arrived onscene to find a small brush fire along the side of the road. The fire was contained and the surrounding area was wet down to ensure fire was completely out.

As we approach the warmer months the RFD would like to remind everyone that in dry conditions it only takes a small spark, used match, or something like a cigarette to start brush fires. If you are driving or at home please be aware of anything that may unintentionally start a fire and handle them accordingly.
