The EMS Division of the Department was honored to be in attendance at the Upper Providence Township Board of Supervisors Meeting on January 22nd for a very special occasion. In early December 2018 Friendship Ambulance was dispatched to a residence in Upper Providence Township for a patient experiencing seizures. While responding to the residence the ambulance crew was advised by Montgomery County 911 the caller was a juvenile and Upper Providence Township Police were requested to respond to the scene. EMS and police arrived at the same time to find the patient semi-responsive to EMS due to just experiencing a seizure. The patient’s daughter, Allison Felder, who was understandably upset called 911 provided the 911 calltaker as well EMS with a wealth of information regarding the situation. Unable to quickly find a caregiver EMS determined Allison would be transported to the hospital with her mother as she had proven to be a great help and could continue to be of assistance to her mother and EMS. Allison gathered her mother’s purse and provided shoes and everyone was taken to the ambulance and transported to Phoenixville Hospital.

Without the assistance of Allie, her bravery, and her willingness to help this would have been an incredibly more difficult situation to navigate. With her mother suffering a medical event Allie reacted in a mature, reasonable, and courageous manner. Her ability to recognize the seriousness of the situation immediately calling 911, providing information to the 911 calltaker which was relayed to the first responders, her unwavering help onscene to provide pertinent and critical information about her mother’s condition undoubtedly contributed to the positive outcome of this situation. We cannot thank her enough for her assistance as she truly made a difference that night.

To show our appreciation Friendship Ambulance & Royersford Fire Department presented Allie with a Bravery & Service Commendation. Also the Upper Providence Township Board of Supervisors presented Allie with a proclamation on behalf of the township for her actions.

Check out the videos of the presentation put together by our friends at Ram Country TV who sent a crew out to highlight the story on behalf of Spring-Ford School District! Also the video of the entire meeting is below with the presentation beginning around the two-minute mark.
